My places of work included the most premium Spas, Salons and Flagship stores in the UK, P&O cruise liners, Harrods, Selfridges, Marriott, Champneys, Bannantynes to name just a few, needless to say I met and treated a lot of interesting people and celebrities along the way!
After having my first child being out on the road full-time was no longer a viable option for me and I was invited to join the team at City of Bristol college where I gained my teaching qualifications on the job. My specialist subjects included Anatomy and Physiology, Electrolysis (needle specialist), Fitness and nutrition. Following the birth of my second child I moved to the Royal Forest of Dean college to be closer to home and continued my job as a lecturer there until the arrival of my third child.
The fees for childcare as well as wanting to enjoy more time with my young children brought me to the decision to make a career change that would enable me to have my ideal balance between motherhood and work. I returned to education but this time as a student and advanced my fitness qualifications to begin my new self-employed venture teaching Fitness, Dance and Yoga classes.
This led to a flexible but full-time job within schools, leisure centres, gyms, special needs facilities and GP referrals. A spinal disease eventually forced me to give up this much loved profession and I returned to practicing what I know best as a self-employed Beauty Therapist in a small salon in The Forest of Dean.
Fast forward a while with now grown up children, I found myself with extra time and freedom so once again I returned to study, adding Aesthetic treatments to my repertoire.
With a strong desire to use my knowledge and experience to offer my treatments, my way, always going the extra mile to provide the very best service, taking time to get to know each clients individual needs and offering tailor-made treatments in a luxury, calm and tranquil space, Number 11 Beauty Lounge was born.
